The Detroit Louisa St. Clair Chapter of the D A R gifted 500 acres of cutover land near Houghton Lake for reforestation. They planted 104,900 trees with White, Norway and Jack pine. William I Smith died at his West First Street home Sunday night at age sixty nine after months of illness. Born April 9 1861 in Lynn St Clair County he married Henrietta Cooley August 8 1887 at Imlay City. Survived by three children eleven grandchildren and his wife. Funeral from Congregational church with Hitler Burt officiating. burial in Cherry Grove cemetery.

Elizabeth Ann House Teeter died at her Rosebush area home after a twelve week illness a complete nervous breakdown. Born February 7 1872 in Lemonville Ontario she moved with her family to Monroe Michigan then Isabella county. She married William S Teeter in 1906 and had a son George before the couple settled on East Fifth Street in 1920.

Earl F. Wilson Dies Sudden at Cornwell Ranch
Earl Farwell Wilson, longtime Saginaw businessman and Democratic figure, died suddenly Sunday morning at the W. Cornwell ranch near Clare. He was 59, in apparent good health on the trip, with death from heart disease. Born January 31, 1871 in Forest township Genesee county, he leaves a widow Edna and two children Donald Hart Wilson and Ann Farwell Wilson, plus siblings. Funeral held Tuesday at 2 PM at his home with Rev. Hmil Montanus officiating. burial in Forest Lawn.

Rosebush Resident Dies After Prolonged Illness at Daughter's Home
Rosebush resident Mary Hlien Armstrong died October 9 1630 at her daughter's home in Blanchard Michigan after a long illness. She had lived in Michigan since age two, married George Maybee in 1880, and left four children Ednad Taylor Harry Hart Floyd and several siblings and grandchildren. Her oldest son William preceded her in death. Burial was in Rosebush cemetery following services at West Center church.

Two Muskrat Trappers Sentenced to Thirty Days Jail
John Arnold of Howell and Howard Holt of Lansing serve thirty days in Muskegon County Jail for trapping on the Muskegon river near Temple. Sheriff Woods and Deputy Newton Kress found twenty muskrat pelts and forty traps confiscated as evidence. both men could not pay fines of twenty five dollars plus costs. Errett Austin was returned to Ionia for breaking parole and given sixty days for stealing chickens.

Eight Injured In Auto Crash Sunday Evening
Eight people suffered injuries in a head on collision one mile south of Rosebush on US 27 Sunday evening around 6 30. The Sutherlands and Douglas family were returning home when a passing car driven by William Rearick and his wife from Shepherd collided with them. Robert Sutherland, the smallest passenger, escaped with minor injuries. Mr Sutherland sustained cuts and bruises, while Mrs Rearick and Mr Rearick also incurred facial and chest injuries. They were treated at home or Bronstetter Hospital, Mt Pleasant, where they were listed as convalescing.
