Former Clare County Resident Passes in Detroit Home
Thomas Barlow died Monday noon at his Detroit home after a lingering illness lasting several years. The funeral was held Thursday at Farwell Methodist Church with Rev. Hall delivering the service. The body was taken to the Frizzell home in Farwell. a life sketch will appear next week.

Remains of Joshua Wager Brought to Clare for Burial
Joshua Wager an old Clare resident died at his Detroit home on October 2 and was brought to Clare for burial. Funeral services were held at his daughter's home in Clare with Rev. A P MacDonald officiating and he was laid to rest in Cherry Grove cemetery. He was born April 9 1853 in Hastings Ont and married Anne Dustin January 19 1881 at Keith Ont. Survived by four children and his wife who predeceased him. He moved to Detroit twenty three years ago after lumbering days in Clare.

Violators Brought Before Court In Local Justice Sessions
Ted Crowley was convicted of driving under the influence in Justice Callihan's Court, fined 50 dollars plus costs and given a six month license revocation. Nina Allen pled guilty to petty larceny, restitution to Barnes Cafe and costs. Joseph Bill waived examination and was bound over to Circuit Court after unlawfully taking a car and stolen clothing found in it. Errett Austin sentenced to 60 days in county jail for stealing chickens, with a second charge leading to Circuit Court, and Rudolph Amerling pleaded guilty to aiding the chicken theft and received 60 days. Harrison jail houses six inmates.

Three Miles of US 27 Paving Authorized Near Harrison
State Highway Board action last week authorized several road projects. Three miles of new location on US 27 south of Harrison were approved for paving with work likely to begin this summer. Life Sketch of the Late Matthew Keebler
Matthew Keebler was born in Germany on April 18 1841. He emigrated to the United States with his parents at age fourteen and settled near Ann Arbor where he lived eleven years. At twenty three he enlisted in the Twentyeth Regiment of the Michigan Infantry and served his country with dedication. Continued on Page Ten.

Clare high school students and faculty were entertained Thursday morning by a musical program featuring Mrs. Adee Parsons of Chicago, Mr. F. J. Radey of Cadillac, and Mr. George Boyd of the local city. Parsons, known for The Student Prince, is visiting Cadillac. Radey, a Cadillac music instructor, is well known to Clare residents. Former Harrison Resident Quinn Dies in Saginaw
Stanley F. Quinn, longtime Harrison resident and public servant, died at his Saginaw home after a brief illness. Born 1884 in Harrison he practiced law since 1909, served as city clerk and mayor there, and was honored by the Saginaw Bar Association for his diligence and integrity. Funeral services were held Monday at his Harrison home before burial in Harrison.
