City Truck Damaged In Crash On McEwan Street
Clarence Ramey, Clare city foreman, drove the city truck north on McEwan when Rose City oil worker Fred Johnston collided with it from Third Street. Johnston lacked a driver's license and was cited for no license and failure to yield. Damages: truck about 100 dollars. Johnston’s car about 400 dollars. Neither man was injured.

Clare Women Golfers End Season With Luncheon and Elections
The Clare women golfers concluded their season with a luncheon at Twin Elms on Thursday October 6. Mrs. Sam Garfield led the meeting and officers for the coming year were elected including Mrs. Floyd Rosier president and Mrs. Harold Wright vice president. Prizes were awarded for first and second flights, handicap, and low net scores with trophies presented by Mrs. Earl Baumgarth and others. The group capped the day with reflections, song, and a bridge session after thanks to management for the dinner.

William Wilson Killed In Auto Wreck
Lt. William Wilson a United States Navy jet pilot died in an auto wreck October 7 while returning to his home in Virginia Beach from duty at the Oceana Naval Base. Born August 10, 1981 in Detroit and a Midland High School graduate, he married Yvonne Balbridge in 1955 and is survived by his wife, parents, two brothers, two sisters, and grandparents. The Midland Knights of Columbus prayed the Rosary at the Wilson home before the funeral attended by many Clare residents.

Colonville Parsonage Burns in Fire Loss Estimated at $3,000
Fire of unknown origin damaged the Colonville Church of God parsonage home of Rev and Mrs Joe Vanderveen on Friday afternoon. Loss included clothing and furniture valued at between 1500 and 3200 dollars. The Vanderveens were away at the Michigan Eldership meeting in Arthur Center when notified. Mrs Fred Yimmerman reported the blaze to Clare Fire Department. They are staying with Mr and Mrs Virgil Kistler during repairs.

The Cline Hospital Auxiliary met at Hotel Doherty on Monday for its October meeting. Marauding Dogs Kill 30 Sheep Near Beaverton
On Monday evening October 3 marauding dogs attacked a flock of 57 owned by Ricard Brushaber in Tobacco township Gladwin county near Beaverton. Mina Metcalf observed the livestock the next morning and alerted Brushaber who found 26 dead and others killed or fatally injured.

The Rosebush Community Council met Tuesday evening at Rosebush School with president ae Decker presiding. Secretary Harvey Lowery read minutes. treasurer Earl House reported a net profit of 350 from the Annual Homecoming 4th of July celebration and committees were formed to coordinate with the Rosebush Chamber of Commerce on a Halloween party and a Christmas tree planting project. Oliver House discussed improving the Memorial Field entrance sign and a proposed tennis court project with winter ice skating plans discussed but not acted on. The council scheduled meetings for the fourth Monday of each month.
