Nine year olds receive polio vaccine across three counties
Sufficient polio vaccine has arrived at Health District Seven for nine year olds in Arenac, Clare, and Gladwin counties. Dr. Irwin C. Sweet says 610 children will be served with state legislature funding. The Polio Foundation stops future participation. third shots for younger groups undetermined. Families may obtain vaccine via physicians or Health Department from now on.

35 Bell Girls March Chilly Picket Line
A group of 35 Bell Telephone operators and other union workers picketed the switchboard building from 6:00 to 8:30 a m in Farwell area. They sought a shorter work week union shop status and higher retirement benefits. One non union operator crossed the line to work while another remained off duty. Supervisors from Saginaw assisted to maintain service during the brief strike.

Fire Truck Ride Thrills School Tots
Seventy one kindergarten pupils from Mrs Leota Van Byerys class rode a fire truck on Monday.
