The City Council will support the program and paint parallel parking stalls to conserve space. police will enforce the law and signs directing traffic to other towns will be placed at main corners. Eastwood Hills property owners met to discuss sewer and water main work funded 75 percent by them. the city may advance total water main costs. The two projects total an estimated 416,000 dollars and aim to enable housing development in the subdivision.

Robbery charge arrest of 15 year old Richard Roberts
Richard Roberts, 15, homes on Hube farm north of Clare, ran away Saturday and allegedly stole 27.50 from Pere Marquette depot. Police linchpin Chief Clyde Urquhart found him in a box car, Roberts fled with a toy pistol. surrendered when threatened to be shot. He had 15.85 on him, admitted theft, jailed and held for Mt Pleasant Post pending probate action.

Fire Destroys John Haring Farm Home Near Clare
The John Haring farm home on the George Haring place east of Clare burned soon after noon last Thursday. A four year old saved the baby before the blaze, with no insurance reported. Clare firefighters arrived too late to save the structure. A separate forest fire near Five Lakes burned about an acre near McKay Park, with neighbors and officials containing it before dark.

Local Man Louis Bright Dies After Long Illness
Louis Jacob Bright of Midland died Friday at Bay City General Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born February 27 1885 in Decatur Indiana, he moved to Midland County at seventeen and lived there ever since. He leaves a widow Bernice, children Mrs William Freeman and Mrs Lloyd Straight, son Wilson, eight grandchildren and a great grandchild, plus brothers David Edgar Bright and John Floyd Jones, sister Rena Bright, and other relatives. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Midland Methodist Church with Rev. Chas Kleinhardt officiating and burial in Midland Cemetery.

Lloyd Ritter, 42, shot and killed himself Monday morning at his Rosebush area home after hours of threats to his family. Mrs. Ritter fled with children to her brother Mat Collins. Coroner Dr. R. A. Northway and Sheriff Joe Rawson investigated. no inquest. Ritter, a World War II veteran, left a wife and four children. funeral held October 10 at Thurston Funeral Home, Clare.
