Michigan Proposes Amendments on Education Tax and Districts
Voters in Michigan will decide three constitutional amendments at the November 4 1924 general election. One expands compulsory school attendance to ages seven to sixteen until eighth grade is completed. A second would authorize a graduated income tax with rates from 5 to 10 percent and admin by a state tax board. A third redraws legislative districts into 32 senate and 100 house districts with a review board to enact the changes.
