Conservation decisions prohibit lake trout fishing in Lake Superior October 5 to November 4 and in Lake Huron October 1 to 31 and in Lake Michigan October 10 to November 15. Whitefish protection spans Lake Huron November 1 to December 1 and Lake Superior November 1 to 26 and Lake Michigan November 5 to December 10 with December 1 to March 10 in Lake Erie. no spawn fishing permits issued during these dates. Chub season is open this year after a change.
