Boy 15 Shot While Hunting in Harrison Township
A 15 year old from Harrison is seriously injured at Clare Osteopathic Hospital with gunshot wounds to the stomach and wrist from a 20 gauge shotgun. The incident occurred Sept 28 at about 3 p.m. in Hatten Township. A 14 year old hunting companion from Harrison is cited to Probate Court for reckless use of a firearm.

Fatal Car Backing Accident Kills Infant
The Clare County Sheriff lists Amy Sue Gossett as 1% of Farwell dying from a skull fracture and internal injuries after a car struck her as she fell from the vehicle. Her mother Laura Sue Gossett drove the car, backing from a Farwell driveway. The baby survived several hours at St Marys Hospital before death. The accident occurred late last month.

Clare High School Hosts Weekend Homecoming Parade
Clare High School plans a Friday 2 45 p m homecoming parade starting at the school parking lot and traveling to Wheaton Hemlock and State Street before returning via Pine Street. A snake dance and bonfire Thursday at 8 p m precede the main events. The Benzie Central football game kicks off at 7 30 p m and the homecoming dance runs 8 p m to midnight at the Primary School gym.

Four Hurt In Lake George Car Crash Near Clare County
Four people were injured October 20 when a car left a curve near Lake George, entered a ditch and struck a tree before rolling over. Marie Ann Petee, 22, of Lake faces a careless driving ticket. Passengers Betty VanBuskirk 26 Timothy Council 25 and Bonnie Parks 42, all from Farwell, were inside. Parks was pinned and rescued by Lincoln Township Fire Department.
