Clarence Randle Injured Falling From Midland Crane
Clarence Randle of Clare sustained critical injuries Saturday morning after falling thirty five feet from a building in Midland. His foot tangled in a crane rope as he grabbed it to descend, the rope broke, and he hit the ground. He suffered severe chest injuries and torn ribs, was treated in Midland and returned home Tuesday.

Farwell School to Return to Central War Time
Supt. Reynold Mick of the Sur rey Rural Agricultural School at Farwell announces the school will switch to Central War Time on October 8. Some businesses are expected to follow. Bert Everett Wilson died Monday morning at his son’s home in Clare after a long illness. Born July 14 1881 in Seneca Castle New York he moved to Michigan as a child. The newly formed Blue Star Mothers Chapter met September 25 at the I.O.O.F. hall in Farwell with fifteen of seventeen original members present. Two new members joined, names to be added. They voted to recruit mothers of service members and invite them to join, with the charter kept open per State Department approval. The group aims to support loved ones in service and assist upon their return. A next meeting is set for October 9 at 9:00 p.m. in the LO.O.F. Hall.
