The Senior Class of Clare High School presents The Charm School, a three act comedy by Alice Duerr Miller and Robert Milton, Friday at eight in the school auditorium. The production features Austin Beavans as the Automobile Salesman and a large cast. proceeds fund a Senior class memorial. Admission 35 cents for adults, 25 cents for children.

Trapper Finds Stolen Goods Hidden in Thurston Swamp
Henry Phanestalk of Sherman Garage near Farwell discovered damaged clothing and silk velvet rolls in the Thurston Swamp while checking traps north of the village. Fabian Hinkle reported parcels and a box found in Clare, likely from a Pere Marquette freight car, August 28. Railroad officials retrieved the loot and investigations proceed.

Funeral Rites Held Sunday for W H Reid
William Reid born October 27 1872 in Dundock Ontario died November 19 1980 near Dover from heart trouble while repairing a building on the Hudson estate. Survived by widow Jennie and son Reginald, along with his father and siblings. Funeral at home with Rev Light and burial in Cherry Grove Cemetery Clare.

Former Clare Man Injured in Three Car Crash
William S Teeter of 269 Delaware Avenue Flint was severely injured when his car hit Truman Smith s vehicle on Williamson road near Bridgeport. Smith s car was in a ditch after a prior collision with S Somm ers of Frankenmuth. Teeter was pulled from the burning car as Sommers and Smith tried to flag an oncoming vehicle from Saginaw. Teeter remains in St Mary s hospital with serious injuries but doctors express cautious optimism.

Well No 4 at depth 1434 feet reached two million cubic feet of natural gas per day as the field produced steadily. New gasser to be capped and attention shifts to well No 5 expected late next week if no trouble arises. Peninsula Oil Co well No 2 continues drilling at about 375 feet. The rotary well on Citizens State Bank lease rose to one million cubic feet per day and the derrick is being moved to a new location.

Mrs William McJames Dies at 36 in Wise Township
Mrs. William McJames died early Thursday morning November 20 at her Wise township home at age thirty six years three months and twenty days. Blanche Wahl born July 20 1894 Payne county Ohio moved to Clare area in 1907 married William McJames December 23 1910. seven children blessed the union with one son Franklin deceased in 1921. Surviving are husband children Cecil Dale Elsie Leonard Clyde Florence Helen and granddaughter Evelyn Dale. sisters Mrs Floyd Spicer and Laila Wahl. brothers Fred Garret Homer Dale and Howard. Funeral Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church in Weidman with Rev W W Hurd and memorial address by Rev H T Smith. Large attendance from family and friends.
