State to tighten truck plate fees through official receipts
The Department of State estimates approximately 500000 more revenue in 1932 by requiring official weight receipts for truck license plates. Truck owners must weigh in operating condition and obtain receipts signed by the weighmaster before plates are issued. Several fraud cases last spring prompted the change, with about 60000 in extra taxes collected by investigators. License plates go on sale at all branch offices December 1.
