Tickets distributed on McEwan street east and west sides with no price, encourage donations. New License Plates Available At Citizens State Bank
The 1982 allotment of automobile license plates for Clare and vicinity arrived from the state department and Citizens State Bank will again serve as a branch office for distributing plates. General distribution is December 1, with new car licenses available now. Licenses for pleasure cars, commercial vehicles and trailers are handled at the bank, and Harmon Shear of Farwell is reported to be the first buyer of a 1982 plate for his new Auburn.

Vesper Service Delights Congregational Church Audience
The Musical Vesper service at the Congregational church drew a full house last Sunday with only a few empty seats. A visiting youth choir from Cadillac Congregational Church impressed despite minor volume loss from absentees. Rev. Percy V. Dawe of Cadillac performed songs from Holdie Guests poems and Lancashire dialect numbers. Afterward, CMS members and some ladies served a fine lunch, creating a friendly social time. The Cadillac visitors were warmly thanked for traveling and contributing.

Grant Township Pioneer Thomas Sutton Dies at 75
Thomas Sutton, a Grant Township pioneer aged 75, died after a long illness Tuesday night at his son Emmet Sutton’s home two miles north of Clare. Funeral services were Thursday at the home with Rev. H. B. Johnson presiding, and interment followed at Cherry Grove. A life sketch will appear next week in the Thanksgiving special at the Clare Variety Store.

Two Alma Men Hurt In Auto Accident
Al ma residents Nevins and Atkinson were fatally tired after a day of hunting in Gilmore township Alabama. Their car veered into a ditch two miles west of St Henrys church Vernon. J R Zemmer of Oxford stopped, found both injured, and transported them to Clare hospital where Dr. Sanford treated them. Nevins returned home Tuesday, Atkinson remained hospitalized for several days.
