County Enforcement Agencies Busy This Week
Clare County enforcement agencies reported a busy period with multiple cases. Amos Van Buskirk and Clarence Van Buskirk were tried for sheep theft. Bergey pled guilty and received 30 days, while the Van Buskirk brothers were convicted and sentenced to 60 days. Other arrests included Gamble, Lewellyn Van Sicklen, Black, and Bannon, with fines ranging from 27.50 to 72.50 and license revocation for Gamble. Art Wilson pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was fined.

Loomis Well Near Dundee Land To Enter Next Stage
The Ben Loomis well in Vernon township section 17 has reached 3725 feet and is expected to strike Dundee with casing run by Thursday. Crowley No 2 in section 27 Vernon is at 2000 feet as formations appear regular. Multiple wells in the area progress, while McKay Mercier No 7 faces a boulder at 491 feet.

The Clare Congregational C. M. S. youth travelers joined Cadillac young people for a joint meeting. Nine carloads attended. The junior choir sang two anthems, Edith Loach and Norris Widen performed solos, Elizabeth Feighner played piano, and a girls group presented a short play led by Marie Wagenaar with Dorothy Green among participants. Cadillac hosts served lunch and everyone returned home safely.

Mr and Mrs David Mussell celebrated fifty years of marriage with Rosebush Presbyterian Ladies Aid and Rev Heberlein gifting a five dollar gold piece. Attendants included Levi Mumma and Eliza Glover. two daughters and a son attended. Mrs Mussell, 73, had been ill but joined the luncheon and shared memories of their Isle area farm life.

Funeral Services Held for Thomas Sutton Thursday
Thomas Aaron Sutton aged 75 and a native of Canada died November 17 1931 after living near Clare Michigan since 1883. He married Sarah McKeever in 1886 and had six children Emmit James Florence Robinett Belle Sheehan Kate Young and Rosella who died in 1910. Survived by twenty two grandchildren and one great grandson funeral services were held at Emmit Suttons home with Rev H B Johnson of Oxford officiating and burial at Cherry Grove.

Car Stolen From Clare Used in Rosebush Hold Up
Wallace Johnson’s Pontiac was taken from the Rosebush school ground after a one and a half hour practice. Three men in a similar car held up a gas station near Rosebush, stealing $100. The car was abandoned south of Clare with wires cut to start it.
