More than 78 000 Michigan veterans and dependents who received 66 561 600 in VA pensions last year must report by December 1. Robert M. FitzGerald, Detroit VA regional manager, says reports determine eligibility for pension adjustments.
Mt Pleasant Central Michigan Community Hospital reports admissions from November 10 to 16 1967 naming dozens of individuals including Paul Fortino Sr Arlene Thayer Judy Burns and many others with towns listed Clare Farwell Mt Pleasant Weidman Coleman Rosebush and more. Discharges during the same period include Helen Harbis Edward Denny Donna Hecker Mollie Boling and others.
Oakridge Farm Bureau held its annual turkey supper at Rose Bush Presbyterian church dining room on Tuesday night. Central Extension Study Club met with Mrs Russell Robertson Thursday night and discussed Color in the Home. The club plans Christmas gifts for Medical Center patients in Mt Pleasant. Refreshments were served. Nearby gatherings included visits by the Cluley and Muterspaugh families and a birthday party for Mrs Barrett Muterspaugh. Mary Jane Swetz, child of William Swetz, welcomed at Dean Muterspaugh home. Harold Kile and children visited Kenneth Mogg. dinner with Bernard West and Asa Prout relatives noted. National events not listed.
Farwell area residents enjoyed a weekend of deer hunting with Dick House of Ovid bagging a deer on opening day. Several guests visited in Hastings Howell Traverse City Mount Pleasant and Clare areas including the Diverbiss family and Thrush family while celebrations a birthday party for Roger Russell at Edward Magnus Jr. home were noted.
A weekly preschool story hour starts November 30 at Farwell Library from 10 30 to 11 30 a m for ages 3 and up. December 1 lighting of Barwell decorations at 7 p m in the village park with a school band carols and a cake by Mrs Magnus and refreshments served.
