Loomis Plant Building Burned Out Monday
Fire at Loomis Machine Co. 141 E 4th caused an estimated 40 000 to 50 000 dollars in damage. No persons injured. Fire reported at 6 45 p.m. confined mainly to the rear of the old Brackart Building converted to offices. Roof and walls destroyed. Firefighters praised for limiting damage to single building. Clute Garage avoided by a narrow wall gap. Earlier fire in another Loomis building blamed on wiring. Crew was cleaning up for inventory when fire started. Fire, police, and state police aided traffic control. No injuries to workers or firemen.
