Clare City to Launch In-House Radio Station Next Spring
Clare City Police plan to operate a base radio station with its own frequency from Clare police headquarters by next spring. Chief William Cook notes equipment bids are out and an assistant will monitor 8 to 11 pm. The department may handle Fire Department calls after dial telephone conversion and move to the city park building with the old fire hall providing space. Virginia Kuula begins duties soon, enabling full police phone coverage.

Aaron Irwin 82 Farwell Man Dies After Week of Ill Health
Aaron Irwin age 82 of Farwell died at his home at noon Wednesday after a period of failing health. His death followed shock from the accidental death of his grandson Irwin Scott blamed for a heart attack. Graveside services for Raymond Wilson infant son of Mr and Mrs Neil Wilson of Lake were held Friday morning November 8. Mrs Donald Smith 42 of Farwell died November 16 after a long illness with funeral at Farwell Methodist Church November 19. She is survived by her husband Donald and two children Dale and Linda.

Basement walls and framing for the 42 by 84 foot area are waiting for settled weather to continue. Gerald Rydman of Coleman holds the contract. The project includes Sunday School rooms, two kitchens, a basement auditorium, restrooms, a complete heating system, and a weatherproof roof. Irwin L Scott dies in deer hunting accident near Lake
Irwin L Scott of Lake Michigan died last Friday after being accidentally shot while hunting near his home. He was born February 5 1922 in Grant Township and spent most of his life in Lake. He married Gladys Ramsden on May 10 1942 and had three children Delores Lynn Raymond James and Paul Linton.
