Rev Lockyer Addressed Clare C of C Meeting
Between forty and fifty members and visitors attended the Clare Chamber of Commerce meeting at Barnes Cafe on Monday evening November 9. President Ed Johnston opened the session after a banquet, with remarks on unseen work by officials led by secretary Geo Sherwood. The secretary read communications and noted copies of W L Park’s address from the Harrison Clare joint meeting earlier in October 1931 and its distribution to towns along U S 27 for an International Super Highway from Florida to Canada. Letters of approval came from Jackson and Alma. The December meeting will be at the Doherty Hotel where Fred Doherty will provide the banquet free of charge. Tickets 60 cents will benefit the Chamber Welfare Fund. sale overseen by Jess Hampton.

Frank Davis Dies After Prolonged Illness at 49
Death came Monday night at the home of his wife's mother Mrs. Thos Dwyer after more than five months of illness. He was forty nine. Mrs. Davis, known as Louise Shelley to friends, will be remembered. The funeral was held Thursday at two in the afternoon with Rev. Fr. Morrison officiating. Interment followed at Cherry Grove. A life sketch will appear in The Sentinel next week.
