Modern five plane hanger rises at Clare Airport
Laurence Leiter and his son Robert built a concrete block and steel hanger at Clare Airport this summer. The 30 by 160 foot structure features cedar doors three north entrances and two south entrances with a 10 by 15 foot airport office and a matching workshop. Courney Bauer and Dick Hall graded the grounds, and plans aim to replace five single T hangars with a larger facility next year.

In Clare Michigan a special election Monday passed the City Commission and manager form of government with 173 in favor and 111 against out of 284 voters. Elected to draft a city charter were O. D. Bayes Frank Haynak Laurence Seiter Theo Wallington Tim Cotter W. James Olson Arthur Damoth Wm. H. Caple and Leo Brown. A future election will elect five or more city commissioners and the charter, if approved, goes to the Governor for approval. The commissioners will select a mayor at their first meeting of the fiscal year.

Mrs. Austin Trumble known as Ma Trumble of Farwell died at her daughter Carrie Perverse's home in Clare after two weeks of illness. John I Brief Pioneer Resident Dies In Muskegon
John I Brief aged 83, Vernon township pioneer, died Friday November 7 at Hackley Hospital Muskegon after a brief illness and an operation. He was born in Germany February 21 1864 and came to America at age four. He married Mary Carmichael December 4 1895 and farmed in Vernon for 51 years. Survived by wife Mary, children Ira D Brief and Dr Daniel Brief and daughter Mrs. Harry L Ridout, sister Mrs. Anna Best, four grandchildren.
