Emma Straka 30 living near Rosebush fought off an Indian assailant who tried to rape her as her 10 year old son George helped restrain the attacker until neighbors and state police arrived. Abraham Solomon 34, of southeast of Delwin, is held on formal charges after the incident. The man had previously attempted a similar crime nearby, raising discussions on prison rehabilitation and psychiatric evaluation.

Driver Charged With Negligent Homicide Here
Lloyd Keyser of Hamilton township was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Wm. B. Dunlop on a negligent homicide charge filed by Clark Walters. The case concerns the death of Walters's child who darted into Keyser's car at the Redner school near Skull Ranch in April. Testimony was heard and a decision withheld pending study of the court stenographer's brief.

Salute to Communities tour brings Saginaw wholesalers to Clare
Eighty five Saginaw wholesalers led by the Saginaw Eddy Band visited Clare on the Salute to the Communities tour stopping in eleven Central Michigan cities. Rachel Ann Nunn laid to rest in Coleman Cemetery
Rachel Ann Arthur daughter of Joseph and Jane Arthur was born February 18 1867 in Ontario Canada. She died October 26 1947 in Michigan at eighty years eight months eight days after illness while visiting her daughter. She married Sealey Nunn May 1 1889 and they lived in Beaverton township with eight children six survivors listed. Funeral services were held October 28 at Elm Grove Church of God with burial in Coleman Cemetery.

Edward Dedloff Killed While Fleeing Bay City Area
Edward W Dedloff 21 of Coleman died Thursday last when his truck hit a car driven by Margaret Pelon of Saginaw on US 23 near Bay City. Pelon survived with minor injuries. Dedloff fled from two hit and run incidents and allegedly struck an Army recruit car and a third vehicle before the fatal crash. Coroner Trahan cited skull fracture and loss of blood as the cause.
