The Clare Study Club marked Federation Day on November 8 with remarks from members on education, prohibition, world peace, and civic issues. A planned recital was canceled, a book of discussion topics prepared, and new members welcomed as delegates shared remarks and plans for Armistice Day events.
The Larman Post to conduct a military funeral for Jas B Frizzell, who fell in the late war. The body arrives in Farwell for burial Sunday November 13 with members of the post meeting at Legion rooms at 1 o clock and funeral at 2 PM. Post Commander N L Tibbits urges members to attend.
The ceremony was held last Saturday at the Methodist church in Pontiac. Mise Della Dann of Glerketon Michigan married Stenley Koska of Detroit. Attendants were Myrtle Koska, sister of the groom, and William Koska, the groom's cousin. The couple will reside in Detroit where the groom works for the Detroit Board of Health.
A shadow social will be held at the Phelps school house Friday November 8 by the Phelps Community Dish for the benefit of the school library. A short program will be given and a quilt raffled. Everyone invited. Mre Stirling Mies Heckathorn 22.
The Good Literature Club gathered Tuesday November 1 at Mrs Reading's home to discuss mispronounced words. Mrs Reading presented an opera review of Thais while Mrs J P Jones read on The Decline of Mediaeval Literature. Mrs Cain analyzed Vetion's work and Mrs C M Jones chaired in Mrs Wilson's absence guiding questions on the evening's topics. The club adjourned to meet with Mrs Trevegno on November 15.
At the home of the bride’s sister Mr and Mrs J A Allen the marriage of Miss Cora Cope to Charles Mead of Casteton was performed by Rev Ailen at noon in the presence of immediate relatives and friends. The bride has lived in the city most of her life and they will make their home in Casteton.

He leaves mother one sister five brothers and many friends. Rev Peters presided at funeral with burial by Jno J Carton Lodge 336 F and A M of which he was a charter member.

James N. Mebride of Barton Michigan led wool producers from twelve midwest states to Washington November 1 for tariff hearings before the Senate Finance Committee. They urged replacing Fordney 25 cent per pound duty with a straight 30 cent rate, eliminating the ad valorem rider. Indignation meetings in Chicago last August spurred the push amid claims the ad valorem clause eroded protection for producers while manufacturers enjoy coverage under Fordney.
