Armistice Day Observance Planned at School Auditorium

The remains of Mrs Emily Larmonth were brought to Clare Wednesday morning for burial in Vernon cemetery with Rev C B Milberry officiating. A Isabella county resident from 1890 to 1906 she died November 2 at age eighty nine while living with her son M M Larmonth at the SCC. She is survived by a daughter Mia Bertha Shoecraft of Flint.

Fire at Clare Creamery Co. threatens roof collapse
Two alarms responded Monday evening when flames breached the roof of Clare Creamery Co. The fire, possibly sparked by chimney embers, was brought under control quickly with ladders and hose lines. Loss estimated around 400 dollars, insured. A separate Wednesday incident at the Morgan Thompson home on West 6th Street involved a small roof fire from chimney sparks with minor damage.

More than 2500 voters visited the polls in Clare County for a historic turnout. The sheriff and probate judge races were close, but incumbent A S Crigier won the sheriff post, and Dorsey retained the probate judgeship by 771 votes. Mrs. Fred Hudson died Tuesday night after months of illness. A Clare resident for many years she was noted for her Christian life and many friends. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Free Methodist church with Rev. W. N. Younglove and Rev. J. A. Allen officiating. burial followed at Cherry Grove.
