James O'Connor Civil War Veteran Dies at 77 in Clare
James O'Connor born December 25, 1846 in St. Marys Michigan. He enlisted February 1864 and was discharged July 1865 due to a gunshot wound. He married Amanda Brooks June 30, 1872 and had three sons who preceded him. A Clare resident for 53 years he died October 23, 1924 at Clare aged 77 years 9 months 28 days. Survived by his wife. Funeral held Sunday afternoon at home with Rev. H. B. Johnson officiating and burial at Cherry Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends from Clio Mt. Pleasant Owosso Okemos Duresid Farwell and other nearby towns attended.
