Alice May Evans born January 16 1870 near Simcoe Ontario died November 4 1924 at her Clare Michigan home. She married Fred Hudson September 5 1894 and had two daughters Mrs Wm Garshow Jr and Mrs Carl Garchow. She joined the Free Methodist church two years ago and funeral was held at the Free Methodist church with burial at Gherry Grove.

The Clare county Red Cross membership campaign started last Tuesday with a strong response. Clare city is divided into districts with a house to house canvass by ladies. The health program aided by a county school nurse boosts interest. Membership is being collected at both banks for rural residents.

Revered Minister Rev. J. H. Lowe Dies After Long Service
Reverend John H. Lowe died at his home Tuesday evening after a year and a half illness. Born in Durham England 78, he leaves his wife and son Leo W. Lowe of Midland township. Funeral Friday at 2 pm from 415 East Hilsworth Street with Rev. T. B. Hoakley officiating. Burial is in Midland cemetery. Lowe, who came from Clare Michigan 18 years ago, spoke from many pulpits here and was beloved for his charitable character and jovial greeting. The Midland Sun notes his long christian life and loss to the community.

Holmeses survive dangerous storm on Houghton Lake
Mr and Mrs Frank Holmes of Clare narrowly escape a deadly storm while duck hunting on Houghton Lake.
