Armistice Day Program Planned by American Legion
The Armistice Day program is led by the American Legion this year. The Waltier H. Larman Post Drum and Bugle Corps will form at City Hall at 10 30 Friday morning and march to the school building. Michigan Bell to Build Central Office in Clare
Michigan Bell Telephone Company plans a nearly sixty thousand dollar upgrade in Clare including a new central office building, new apparatus, expanded outside plant, house and business connections, and a change to the call signaling system. Construction, on Fourth Street between Pine and McEwan, will begin after bids and the cottage style building is erected. The project uses Western Electric equipment with test periods after installation and will replace existing phones to support direct operator signaling by lifting the receiver.
