Revs. Hommes and Van Ryn begin a three night series of meetings at 7 30 pm next week. They will do personal outreach in the city during their stay. The pastors invite both devout walkers and seekers to attend and hear a call to come to Jesus.

A call to voters to participate on Tuesday November 6 urging citizens to cast ballots. The message emphasizes civic duty and timely participation in the election process.
Zeno Budd 26 and Bert Gleason 35 moved from Detroit to Greenwood Township were bound over to Clare County Circuit Court for trial after a hearing before Justice Young in Harrison. Budd confessed to stealing two steers from neighbor John Bringold, loading them, selling in Detroit for 146.60 and splitting the proceeds. Budd cited lack of funds for the theft. Budd arrested at Greenwood home. Gleason held in Mt. Clemens for Sheriff Woods.
The Clare Study Club met at Mrs Greer s home for a political session before the presidential election. Members heard papers by Mrs Mercer and Mrs Jackson outlining Republican and Democratic nominee positions and discussed farm relief flood control and other issues. The club sets an informal reception for city schoolteachers November 6 at 8 00 pm at Hôtel Doherty.
Thirty eight ladies of the Auxiliary and their husbands enjoyed a three course dinner at the parsonage. The crowd filled the house and lingered at the tables as a fine social evening unfolded.
A provisional programme for a local Methodist church rally next Sunday at 7:30 p.m. invites the public to attend and support the youth. It lists opening prayer by Mrs. Hurd, a lesson by Fannie Shultz, a Hoover career talk by Durward Kennedy, a Prohibition issue discussion by Ruth Dawson, and a speech by Neil Stirling with music and more.
The Good Literature Club met at Mrs. Hileen Bogan's home with Mrs. Stella Lampman presiding. Mrs. Kate Knapp spoke on Ruth the Bible Love Story and Miss Crowell on Designing and Making of Wall Paper.
John Nags aged 24 living near Clare was arraigned on arson charges in connection with a residence fire that destroyed the Otto Gardon home. He was bound over to Clare county circuit court for trial. A confession alleged Nass pursued burning the Garden place using kerosene and gasoline, painting the back of the house, and fleeing. The Garchow residence burned October 8 leaving a family of eight with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
R. A. Koch received from H. H. Keating, manager of Saginaw Division, Standard Oil Company a ten year gold button. According to policy, all ten year employees are awarded a gold button engraved with name, address and years of service. Twenty nine people have been honored in two years, reflecting the company’s aim to boost loyalty and efficiency.

A note from Mrs Severson thanks neighbors friends and lodge members for books cards letters flowers and help while in Ann Arbor Hospital. She appreciates brothers and sisters of the lodge for cutting and hauling wood and for visits on Saturday and Tuesday.
A Republican rally will be held at Loomis School on Monday night November 5 at 8 00 p m. The event features a prominent speaker and is sponsored by the Women's Division of the Isabella County Republican Committee with Mrs Anna Rose as chairwoman.

Clare high school football defeated Reed City 31 to 0 at Reed City last Friday. Clare dominated with seventeen first downs to four, while Reed City fought hard and repeatedly hit the Clare line. The game flowed with long drives and field position battles, ending when Clare reached scoring territory after Johnson and Jones powered their late drives. Continued on last page.
The annual meetings at Bay City October 25 surpassed prior efforts in interest and attendance. Four counties Oscoda Isabella Jackson Wayne joined the Hast Michigan Tourist Association. Lee White of the Detroit News and A C Carton addressed delegates amid a joint banquet and theater entertainment. Proceedings included re election of Development Bureau officers and remarks by regional officials and organization leaders. A condolence resolution noted the death of Eugene Foster of Gladwin.
Delinquent water users are notified that if not settled by November 10 the water supply will be shut off by order of the City Council.
