Green Meadow farm expands dairy empire under Green family

Merle Green of Elsie runs Green Meadow farm with his sons Duane and Velmer. They manage about 1200 milking cows on 2000 acres, claim the largest registered Holstein herd, and operate 20 hour milking with four shifts. They rely on bunkers over upright silos and export many cows and bulls to foreign markets, while facing labor and management challenges.
