CONA One Number Alert launched by 35 agencies
Thirty five utility companies and governmental agencies across ten counties urge diggers to call 800-292-9050 before trenching. The 24 hour CONA service identifies underground lines including telephone water electric gas and cable TV and notifies the relevant utility or agency. The effort aims to prevent outages caused by accidental digs. Counties include Clare Osceola Gladwin Midland Isabella Mecosta Montcalm Gratiot Ionia and Clinton.

Clare PTA Fun Fest Raises Over 2500 Dollars
The 1973 Clare PTA Fun Fest held May 4 earned more than 2500 dollars. Volunteers and donors included Bill Bailey and family as clowns, Don Mussell for setups, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, the Lions Club, and numerous local businesses.
