Catherine Wainman retiring Clare BPW president and Dorotha Lloyd junior past president represented their club at the 52nd annual convention in Detroit. The May 15 16 17 gathering at the Statler Hilton attracted 538 attendees. Dorothy Richey Oklahoma author gave the keynote at the banquet, with Dr. Allen B. Rice delivering Sunday devotional services. Phyllis Clark Alma District 7 was elected vice president and installed at the Saturday banquet.

About 140 attended the Mother Daughter banquet at the United Methodist church dining room on May 23. The event featured a shoe themed program and a meal prepared by Robert Campbell and the church men. Prizes and recognitions highlighted the youngest daughter, oldest mother, and mother with most daughters, along with various toasts and performances by Becky Whitford Connie Seiter Debbie Greer and others.
