Lois Pudway FHA vice president led ceremonies and awarded ten girls for service. new officers for 1957 58 were installed with red roses. Clare Track Team Shines At Regional Meet
At Mt. Pleasant on May 11 seventeen Class C schools competed. Clare placed first in the Medley relay with Larry Young J J Seiter Bill Zinser and John Zinser. Ron Shafer won the mile and Bill Zinser took third in the high hurdles. Five of six Clare entrants qualified for the state finals at Lansing.

Clare man airlifted after Beaverton Rd motorcycle crash
Arthur Bradley of Clare was severely injured Friday night when his motorcycle struck a dirt pile on Beaverton Road near Cherry Grove Cemetery. He suffered a fractured skull and head and leg lacerations and was treated at Clare General Hospital. He is reported much improved and out of danger.

Twenty Three Children Receive First Communion at St Cecilia's

Map Plans For 2 Youth Centers In Clare And Farwell
Youth centers in Clare and Farwell will be run under joint boards from both towns. Sixteen teens from both communities met with adult promoters at Clare School. A junior board will include local students while a senior board handles cross town coordination. About a dozen youths will ready the Dan McDonald building on West Fifth Street this Saturday. They will collect furniture and games offered locally. The Farwell group aims to open their teen center soon for mutual use by Clare and Farwell teens.

Fred H Coe, 88, Dies. Rites Planned Near Loomis
Fred H. Coe, who would have turned 89 on June 9, died Tuesday at his Loomis area home. Funeral services are set for Thursday May 23 at 2:00 PM at Thurston Funeral Home with Rev. L. J. Nevins officiating, interment in Wise Township cemetery. He is survived by his wife, a daughter Mrs. Harley Sowle of Clare, and a son Ross Coe who lives on the family farm.
