Fire Destroys Barn and Livestock at Sher idan Farm
Fire of unknown origin last week damaged the barn of IF A Carncross in Sheridan township. Wesley Scott, occupying the farm, saved horses and harnesses but ten cows perished inside. The barn 40 by 64 feet with basement valued at about $3000. insurance on the structure $1800. Livestock owned partly by Scott valued at $500 to $600 with no insurance. Rural fire truck from the city fought the blaze, aided by neighbors, saving granary coop and house despite high winds.

Louis Klingelhofer died at his home Monday morning after a stroke. Born February 1 1846 in Germany he served in the Franco Prussian War and emigrated to the United States in 1876 settling in Grundy County then Sheridan Township Michigan. He leaves a son John and a sister in law. funeral at Colonville Church with Rev L C Bernthal officiating and interment in Cherry Grove cemetery.
