Nearly two weeks earlier an argument between Chris Loeffler of Surrey township and Bruce Pelch of Farwell led to a fistic confrontation. Loeffler filed assault and battery charges. at a hearing before Justice Callihan last week, the complainant failed to appear and the case was dismissed. Pelch then swore out a slander charge against Loeffler. Loeffler was found guilty, fined 25 dollars or 30 days, costs 10 dollars, sentence suspended on payment, and placed on six months probation.
