Forty three Will Graduate From Clare High School
Forty three students will graduate from Clare High School on Friday June 13. The class has 23 boys and 20 girls with Byron Gallagher valedictorian and Wilson Samborn salutatorian. Commencement speaker is Dr. Harry Means Crooks of Alma College, diplomas to be presented by A B Mulder. Class activities included the December play The Whole Towns Talking directed by Miss Louisa Rogers.

Hazel Stottlemyer daughter of Mr and Mrs R L Stottlemyer won best essay on Health in a seventh and eighth grade contest sponsored by the Michigan Tuberculosis Association. The essay warns tuberculosis is a germ disease spread by coughing and sneezing and urges proper health habits to prevent it.

Survived by son Walter Greenwood and daughter Mrs Margaret Rhodes Sag inaw four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral held at residence in Greenwood Wednesday with Rev H B Johnson Clare officiating interment Harrison cemetery.

Susan Leonard born in Canada February 21 1848 died May 10 1936 at her daughter Mrs Georgia Lowery’s Vernon home aged 82 years 2 months and 19 days. She lived in Ovid Clare and was a longtime Methodist Episcopal member. Interment followed at Cherry Grove Cemetery with Rev H B Johnson officiating.

Sunday School Class Entertained At Picnic
Sunday School class taught by Mrs. Stottlemyer enjoyed a Thursday May 8 picnic with a weenie roast and river play. Mr. Pettit allowed use of his workshop as a dressing room for girls and Lyman Perkins oversaw fire building at tourist camp. Mr. Stottlemyer won the stone skipping contest before everyone headed home, lamenting the fun ending.
Junior Class Patsy Play Delights Clare High
The Clare high school junior class presented The Patsy directed by Miss Marie Wagenaar last Friday night in the school auditorium. Lead roles were played by Miss Leota Williams and Forest Jordan with Miss Margaret Doherty and Miss Janet Green as the elder sister. Wagenaar received a bouquet from the class for her directing.

He cared for Wilson State Park turning it into a Michigan beauty spot and funeral services were held at his home with Rev H I Johnson officiating. Maple Grove Cemetery burial followed with many local and out of town mourners in attendance.
