L H Gaston and later Vander Slice served as directors as the staff logged 4702 home visits and 1006 school visits. 4970 communicable disease or defect inspections and 614 diphtheria protections. 3897 smallpox vaccinations. 609 x rays. 3078 medical examinations. Sanitarian inspections 1722. Nursing supervised 26 tuberculosis cases and 207 contacts. 69 prenatal, 456 infants, 1116 preschool and 79 crippled children. Eye exams 648 with 243 glasses. dental clinic saw 1702 children, 2994 visits, 3086 fillings, 2323 extractions, and 8539 other procedures.

Death of 16 year old Peter Kascheck in Wis e township crash
Peter Kascheck aged 16 of Wise township was fatally struck by a car driven by Charles Berthume near the east city limits on US 10 while walking home with bread after an evening in the city. The coroner and a jury found no blame for Berthume. He was born April 22 1921 in Burton Ohio and survived by parents and siblings. Funeral services were at St Cecilia church.
