Turbulent cyclone devastates Isabella Clare counties
A violent storm swept Vernon township in Isabella county and Grant and Sheridan townships in Clare county, damaging 40 to 50 buildings and causing substantial property loss. Winds from the southwest with a heavy rain flooded fields and roads, toppling large barns, wrecking silos, and injuring no people. Several farms reported moved or split structures, with one barn hurled from its foundation and calves exposed, then sheltered by a falling roof. The storm continued into Gladwin county near Beaverton with further damage noted.
