Former Clare Lady Passes Away in Lansing
Verna G Feighner formerly of Clare died at her Lansing home after a long illness. Born May 22 1877 in Barry County Michigan she was 68 with 11 months and 8 days. She leaves Floyd her husband two daughters Nona Lutz and Ella Cobb eighteen grandchildren ten great grandchildren three brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held at Colonial Chapel Lansing with Rev Royal Woodhead officiating and burial in Deepdale Cemetery.

Flag Tournament at Twin Elms Club Next Wednesday

The Mt Pleasant Deanery of the National Council of Catholic Women held its annual convention at St Henrys Church in Rosebush on Sunday May 5 with about 160 ladies and several priests in attendance. Improvement at Martin Eberhart Park Gut Lake
The Clare Rod and Gun Club sponsors begun work on Martin Eberhart Park on the west shore of Gut Lake. Seventeen members cleared a road to the lake, prepared a boat landing, moved pines, built forty rods of Paige wire fence, and the Road Commission will lay a gravel road to the water for boat unloading. The park welcomes public fishing and outings while requesting care of the grounds. The club will hold a meeting next Tuesday May 14 at Clute's Garage to discuss important business and welcome new conservation minded visitors.
