Diets and Protein in Daily Menus
Michigan State University nutrition experts explain protein roles in daily meals. Proteins are essential building blocks not stored by the body, and should be replenished daily with foods like meats fish poultry eggs milk and dairy. Animal sources provide more protein than plants, but combining both sources yields a good mix. Spreading protein across meals, especially breakfast, supports healthy function of vital organs. Quickie diets endanger organs by depriving them of nutrients.
