Zenobia Chapter Holds Public Installation Of Officers
Zenobia Chapter rooms saw a large attendance for the public installation of officers for the coming year on Wednesday night April 25. Installing officer Sister Mary Nelson led the ceremony with Sister Nin McGuire and Sister A J Kane assisting and a flower drill by ten young participants followed. Sister Nelson praised Sister Haller the treasurer for twenty eight years of service and the Basket of flowers presented to the matron by her late daughters surprised the mother. A musical program and refreshments closed a formal, optimistic gathering for the chapter’s future.

Kalamazoo Co. Delivers 450 Barrels From Hornick Lease
The Kalamazoo Improvement Co now operating as Clare Development Co drilled a 450 barrel oil well on the Hornick lease about 1.75 miles east of Mt. Pleasant field near Kalamazoo. Work halted at 300 feet as gas burst through the Dundee formation and oil surfaced for thirteen minutes. Oil tanks were rushed in and connected that Friday night. The firm also reported success at Leaton.

Mrs. A. E. Mulder led the George Washington Memorial Forest planting in West Branch on April 28 with 17 auto loads of clubwomen, Boy Scouts and conservationists aiding.
