Death of John H. Schroeder in Saginaw at Daughter’s Home
John H. Schroeder died at his daughter Mrs. Joseph Bleise’s home in Saginaw on April 14. Born in Germany in September 1850, he lived in Houghton County and Grant Township after marrying Mary Bauer in 1886. He leaves three children and fourteen grandchildren. burial was in Huron Town beside his wife, who died in November 1928.

Hatton Youth Suffers Leg Break in Auto Crash
Perl Heintzelman age 20 of Hatton township suffered a leg fracture about three inches above the ankle when struck by a running board side swipe as he walked along the pavement returning from fishing in the Chippewa river near Mt. Pleasant. Jay Bellinger of Hatton city drove the car with lights on and avoided a direct collision before Heintzelman was knocked down. He was treated by Dr. W F Clute.

Last Friday morning the eighth grade presented chapel exercises and a pretty style show with fine dresses, costumes, singing, and dancing. The High School Band rehearsed contest numbers while the Boys and Girls Glee Clubs sang their selections.
