One Day Session of Clare County Circuit Court Opens

The March term of the Clare County Circuit Court opened Monday for a one day session before Judge Hart. Seven cases were heard with four criminal pleas of guilty and three chancery hearings. The People versus Vivian Douglas resulted in a guilty plea and immediate discharge due to prior jail time. The People versus Owen Clink and Oscar Hudson involved burglary charges with varying pleas and tentative rulings. Clink later changed to guilty on counts two and three. sentencing to follow after further conduct. Continued on Page Four.

Farmers Need Help to Improve Markets

The Michigan State College agricultural outlook report says prices are driven by conditions beyond farmers' control while relief can come from on farm adjustments. Emphasis on dairying poultry, high yields, rigid culling, home seeds, and using home foods. Young People Convention Set in Clare by Church of God

Northeastern Michigan Young People's Convention of the Church of God will be held Sunday April 2 in Clare. Morning and night sessions at the home chapel with afternoon sessions at the Methodist church feature talks by regional leaders on worship, youth establishment, church power, and evangelism. Special music accompanies sessions. business meeting set for 5:00 PM and an evangelistic service 7:30 PM with I. T. Mark as speaker. All interested youths urged to attend.

Zenobia Chapter Hosts Large Crowd at Initiation Event

About two hundred fifty people attended a Zenobia Chapter Order of the Eastern Star meeting on Thursday March 23 at the local chapter room. Elizabeth McIntosh was initiated as officers from the Midland chapter conducted the ceremony with delegations from Farwell Harrison Coleman and Midland.

Cars Face March 31 Deadline For 1933 Licenses

Motorists with 1932 licenses must display half time permits by March 31. Clare county license plates are issued by Citizens State Bank with 426 new licenses sold before March 15 and 64 since. By March 14, sixty owners had secured half time permits, and 106 tags had been issued by Wednesday noon. After April 1, restrictions will be enforced.

Professor Robinson speaks at fathers and sons banquet

Professor Robinson of Dental State Teachers College Mt Pleasant was the principal speaker at Harrison's annual father and son banquet in the Congregational church parlor. Nearly two hundred attended as Aldrich acted as toastmaster. He urged setting a definite objective and used stories of aiming, persistence, and the right end in view to illustrate success. The event featured music by the local high school orchestra and a well served dinner.
