Farm Home in Hatton Township Destroyed by Fire
Wednesday afternoon about 4:00 oclock Mr and Mrs Forest Garver of Hatton township suffered considerable loss when their home half a mile west of Brown Corners burned to the ground. The fire, discovered by children returning from school, had gained a start before help could reach it. A portion of the household goods was saved. The home and contents were only partially insured.

Local contractor drills largest gas well in county
W. J. Bernier, contractor driller for Ross and Bernier, capped and gauged an 86,000,000 cubic foot gas well on the Hocket and Sutherland properties in Belvedere township Mecosta county last Saturday. The crew worked under dangerous conditions, tying to the derrick framework as gas force required. Fifteen men aided the operation, using cotton batting and gasoline to muffle the noise. Gas from the well will be sold to Grand Rapids Heat and Light Co.

Harrison Woman Burned in Kerosene Heater Explosion
Last week Tuesday Mrs. Norman Shimmell of six miles west and two north of Harrigan suffered severe burns to face neck and arms when kerosene splashed on a blaze from a cabinet heater. She smothered flames and waited for help as her six month old baby and two older children were inside. Her husband living with the county road crew brought her to Clare County General Hospital where Dr Wood reported the burns painful though not necessarily serious. Her mother Mrs Abe Van Buskirk aids in care.

Cobleigh dies at son’s home after long illness
Ray Cobleigh born April 27 1865 in Park Hill Ontario died March 22 1936 at his son Ezra Cobleighs Vernon township home aged 70 years 10 months and 26 days. He came to Michigan in 1886 married Maria Sutton 1 year later and had one son Ezra. Funeral Tuesday at Thurston Sons parlors with Rev Albert Dawe officiating burial in Cherry Grove cemetery.
