The Republican Convention for the City of Clare is scheduled for Monday, peace 11th, 1935 at 8:00 PM in City Hall to nominate candidates for Mayor City Clerk City Treasurer Justice of the Peace and conduct other business. Ward caucuses follow in each ward to nominate Supervisors Aldermen Constables and handle related business. A fish supper will be held at LO O. Hall Friday night March 16.

Boxing Show At Gladwin Draws 20 Competitors

Domestic gas rates lowered effective March 1
The Gas Corporation of Michigan and Mt. Pleasant city commission secured state approval for a 10 cent cut on the first two domestic rate steps, with a 1.30 dollar first step and 1.00 dollar second step. Anticipated annual savings total 3,000 to 5,000 dollars in Mt. Pleasant and Clare units.

Tuesday’s public auction on the James Duncan farm near Vernon drew renewed bidder interest. Gallagher Brothers offered a large lot under Lamee Tucker as auctioneer. A team of Percheron horses sold to Fred Haskins for 52 dollars and Holstein cows brought 65 to 74 dollars each as feed costs rose.
