Opposes Senate Bill No 1 Civil Service Changes
Miles M Callaghan argues against Senate Bill No 1 proposing a State Civil Service Commission with fixed terms and a powerful State Personnel Director. He warns of unprecedented executive power, excessive costs, and urges House action to preserve merit selection while limiting dictatorial control. He notes past votes and calls for reforms aligned with Michigan's needs and mental health funding.
