Last Rites Held for David Miller at Mt Pleasant
David M. Miller 88, father of Mrs. Florence Parish, died Sunday after a long life split between England Canada and Michigan. Born July 11 1848 he moved to Mt Pleasant in 1888 later lived in Saginaw and then with his daughter in town. He leaves five daughters a son fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren with several siblings. Services were held Wednesday afternoon at the family home with Rev. A. Dawe and interment in Riverside Cemetery Mt. Pleasant.

John Sparbel died Wednesday night at his Grant township home after a ten day illness with heart trouble. He was 65 and served as secretary of the Tenth district Farm Union, leaving a wide circle of friends. A public funeral will be held Sunday at 3 PM from the Thurston Funeral Home, followed by a private service at his home.

Funeral rites were held from St. Cecilia's church for Joseph Verrette with Rev. S. J. Morrison in charge. The pioneer, born in Quebec in 1849, died at his home on West Fifth Street after a long decline and was laid to rest in Cherry Grove Cemetery. He lived in Clare the past twenty years after retiring from farming and had interests in Vernon Township oil wells. He leaves fourteen children and thirty-nine descendants.

Five Harrison People In Auto Mishap Near Benton Harbor
Harrison correspondent reports Mayor Robert Burns of Harrison his wife and five year old daughter Josephine along with Mrs Burris brother Harry Mead and wife of Frost township were in an auto wreck near Benton Harbor Sunday. Mr Mead died. Burns party suffered injuries including a broken limb and broken arm. Mrs Mead unconscious until Monday noon. They were en route to visit Mrs Mead and Mrs Burns mother Mrs Sarah Mead in New Buffalo hospital after her hip fracture. Mr Mead's body was brought to Harrison for funeral services set Thursday afternoon officiated by Rev A B Lucas and Rev key Light.

Felix Prover Dies After Monday Night Passing
Felix Prover died at his mother's home Monday night at age 36. He was born in New Malta, Ind., in May 1901 and had lived in Clare for twelve years. He leaves his mother, a brother, two sisters, and other relatives. Funeral services were held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Church with Fr Tomaszewski officiating and burial in the church cemetery.
