Fire damages St Johns Lutheran Church causing extensive repairs

Walter J. Hopson of Gladwin discovered a newborn’s body wrapped in a Detroit newspaper inside a flower box near a highway one half mile north and a mile and a half east. The infant appeared well preserved, likely due to cold weather, and officials say a knotted towel in the mouth caused strangulation. A wilted flower lay with the body.

Uriah S Pringle Dies After Fall at Age 90
Uriah G. Pringle born March 14 1846 in Ontario Canada died Saturday evening March 13 two weeks after a fall. A pioneer lumberman and farmer, he lived near Farwell fifty years and ten years on Pine St Clare. He married Laurd V. Martin in 1878 and had four children two sons and two daughters. Funeral at home Tuesday 2 30 pm conducted by Rev Albert Dawe with Farwell Cemetery interment, six Masonic pallbearers.

City Republican Convention Names Dunlop for Mayor
Tuesday evening over 350 Republicans filled their ticket with candidates. John W. Dunlop won the mayoral endorsement over Jesse Hampton by a substantial majority.
