Clare enjoyed a rare musical treat Wednesday evening as Sir Arthur Sullivan's comic opera His Majesty's Ship Pinafore was staged by local talent. Mrs Louisa Oaks starred with a 34 member chorus. supporting leads included Mrs Eva McAllister and Mr Norris Elden. Nina McQuire directed the production with chorus from the Study Club.

The Friday event at Clare High School, under the Clare High School Athletic Association, offered games, food stands, boxing, and minstrel shows. The Boys Glee Club directed by George Boyd performed the finale. Proceeds reached $110 for the association treasury.

Aged Grant Resident William Randall Dies at 72
William BeReandall born December 23 1857 in Wareckahire England died February 28 1930 at his Grant Township farm aged 72. He immigrated with his parents to Canada in 1862 later moving to Saginaw Michigan and settled in Clare county in 1895. He married Mary Albright in 1884 and had six children four of whom survived. widow Mary Ida Sutton three deceased: Alice Adeline Amelia. Funeral Monday at Congregational church officiated by Rev H B Johnson with interment in Cherry Grove cemetery. He leaves twelve grandchildren and siblings and in laws attending included Lorenda Hubel Otto Albright and Mrs Jos Randall of Saginaw and Walter Arthur Randall Jr of Grand Rapids.
