Mrs Edward A White prominent Clare resident and widow of early jeweler died suddenly at her New Smyrna Florida home at 10 pm Friday Born Jennie Ardell Welch November 30 1868 she moved with family to At tica Michigan and settled in Clare in 1881 She taught school aided local clubs and helped found the Other Aid society later active in Ladies Auxiliary Kankakee Club Clare Study Club and New Summa Woman's Club Her husband Edward A White predeceased her in 1937

A Victory Ball followed in the gym to honor Clare Public School bond success of 25 800 dollars, with a lighthouse, Statue of Liberty backdrop, United Nations flags, and a piano.
