Lake Shamrock Dam Flooding Plans Approved
Engineering officials from the Michigan Conservation Department and Highway Department inspected Lake Shamrock dam work and future plans. They approved flooding off soon, with a final inspection and no changes needed. Hammond said fish will be planted once water temperature stabilizes. Volunteers For Math Demonstration At Central Michigan
Central Michigan University offers a summer demonstration class as part of the National Science Foundation Institute for secondary school mathematics teachers. Thirty five students from eleven area high schools will form the class with Clare high school represented by Mike Austin Gary Gershon Barbara Hawkins Ellen Saul and Tim Walter. Russell Steigmeir from LaGrange Illinois will teach the class and observe institute participants. For one hour daily he will demonstrate progressive methods used in the LaGrange schools. The student volunteers will not receive academic credit.

Paul H. McDonald 39 of Clare remains in critical condition at Ford Hospital Detroit from a one car crash near Dover Road north of Clare. Driver McDonald suffered multiple injuries including 11 broken ribs and a fractured pelvis. Companion Paul Koch 56 survived with abrasions and contusions after the 1962 Ford rolled several times.
