Rachel Evans Axford born in Toronto March 25 1852 died June 19 at her niece’s home on East Sixth Street. She married Frank B. Axford in October 1872 and had three children Edward Montein and Johnnie. survived by son Edward of Charlotte and five nieces. A longtime Adventist, she settled in Clare County in 1874 and was buried in Cherry Grove after funeral at Thurston Funeral Home led by Elder Burt.

James Henry Bogan, born January 22, 1861 in Genesee County, died last Tuesday in Vernon. He lived in Vernon Township most of his life and was known for serving others. Funeral services were held Thursday at St. Henry's church with burial in Mt. Pleasant cemetery beside his sister.

Ira Elmer Tennant of Monroeville born May 3 1887 died in Cadillac Michigan June 17 1931. He was the son of LeRoy and Elmina Tennant and is survived by four brothers and two sisters and former Clare citizens. The last words he spoke to his father were I am ready and willing to go and his funeral was held at the Thurston home chapel with burial in Cherry Grove cemetery.
