Mrs Ann Try hosted Saturday guests Mr and Mrs Robert Miller and family and Mrs Katherine Die rich of Saginaw plus Mrs Florence Courtright and family of Lansing. Dinner Sunday featured Mr and Mrs Lyle Philo of Lansing. Miss Jamet Bauer hosted Monday overnight with Joan and Dick Horseman of Erie PA Lucy Johnston of St Albia WV and Denene Boyden of Wayne MI. Norman Bauer attended a Traverse City constable convention for three days last week and returned Sunday.
Walter A. Goodman announces earlier fair opening and a new Monday July 30 entry deadline for 1962. The Michigan State Fair runs August 24 through September 3 with a record 141000 in prizes. Changes include livestock release times, expanded junior show rights, new Tennessee Walking Horse premiums, and sheep breed removals due to low interest.
Harrison area Reverend Daniel Miller and wife were honored at a Sunday picnic after church as they prepare to relocate to Detroit. Numerous relatives and friends from Prudenville to Midland joined the gathering, with other families visiting and attending christenings and family reunions over Father’s Day weekend.
