Eagle Church of God to Dedicate New Building
The Eagle Church of God plans a two service dedication Sunday June 12 starting 10:30 am with Bible School and classroom dedication then 2:30 pm dedication sermon by Rev Robert Fast Wharton Ohio and 8:00 pm Evening Worship. The original church burned January 31 1954 and the new building features brick veneer stained glass and a 84 by 60 auditorium with a west entrance and arches in the chancel.

Two Youths Jailed for Violating Probation in DUI Incident
John William White, 18, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and paid 64 dollars in fines. Lloyd Nixon, 20, paid 15 dollars for disorderly conduct. Both were sentenced to 10 days in county jail for probation violation. A third 17-year-old also paid 15 dollars for disorderly conduct and was placed on one year probation.

Gas Rate Increase Sought by Michigan Consolidated
The Michigan Public Service Commission weighs a request from Michigan Consolidated Gas Co for a yearly rise of 9.92 million dollars to boost earnings and fund expanding facilities. If approved the average home would pay about 37 cents monthly more and heating customers about 93 cents, with a minimum 1.25 dollar charge for the first 500 feet. Baptist Speaker to Fill Clare Pulpit Next Sunday

Nelson Bernier of Farwell learned last Thursday that his brother Fr. Paul Bernier, a former Clare resident, died that morning at St Joseph Hospital Parkersburg WV. He was forty six. Funeral arrangements had not been made.

His partner John Stoll witnessed a 160 yard shot that rolled to the cup after a sand trap, with Asline remarking he would not need to hit it again. St Johns Dedicate Church Front And Interiors Sunday
On Sunday June 12 St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church of Clark will dedicate its new church front interior decoration and appointments. Two services are scheduled the Festival Service at 10 30 a m and the Dedicatory Service at 3 p m with Rev R A Gensmer and Rev Leonard Newman as speakers and special music by the church choir and male quartet. Speedboater Drowned In Budd Lake Near Harrison
A 25 year old Midland man, Larry Foster, drowned when his motorboat capsized on Budd Lake around 3 pm. Two younger companions, Albert Straubel 11 and Nancy Straubel 16, were rescued. Foster, a Korean War veteran, was brought from the water after a half hour by Dr. John Weitzel. His funeral was held at Dale Cemetery in Gladwin.

Eye Injury At Stevenson Lake Fatal?
Mrs Ronald Brown of Clare hurt her eye when a fish hook snagged it while fishing at Stevenson Lake last Thursday. She delayed medical care until the next day as eye pain grew, and she now remains under medical care. Mrs Brown works for Clare Manufacturing.
